Dave began his professional career as a practicing attorney where he discovered a desire to help advise clients across all broad, interconnected aspects of their financial lives. He joined the early leaders of the personal financial planning profession, leading practices with CPA firms PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG Peat Marwick as well as with the investment company, Interstate Johnson Lane.

Combining his skills and training as an attorney, CPA, and CFP^®, Dave strives to help clients tackle complex topics and situations by finding simplified, organized solutions.

Dave is a cycling enthusiast – look for him on the roads, greenways, and gravel paths around Charlotte. Dave and his wife, Robin, enjoy backroad hiking trips, family beach weeks, and time with their two daughters and two grandchildren. Dave has a special appreciation for the guidance and training that Florence Crittenton Services provides to women in need and has enjoyed his many years serving on the board of directors and in various other roles with the organization.
