Abby joins the firm founders as a member of the advisory team and leads the financial planning department at Verum Partners. A lover of problem-solving and organization, she’s been known to get excited about spreadsheets and tax returns, and enjoys helping clients make sense of the numbers.
Abby & the Verum team work with many families who own complex financial assets, such as restricted stock or stock options, concentrated stock positions, closely-held businesses, real estate, and private equity interests, all of which add an additional layer of intricacy to a family’s financial life. Abby helps integrate those assets into a client’s overall financial plan and decision-making around saving, major purchases, charitable and family giving, and retirement planning. As a Certified Exit Planner, Abby has additional training in helping business owners plan for an exit from their business. She acts as a guide through that complexity so that families can spend more time on the “life” part of work-life balance. Money is personal, and Abby believes a financially successful life looks different for every family, which is why a customized, holistic approach to financial planning is so important.
Abby and her husband, Patrick, spend much of their time trying to keep up with their son, Luke. They live in South Charlotte with their two pups, Jake and Charlie. Abby enjoys photography and is a self-declared “extreme hobbyist” – her favorite subjects are landscapes and small children (she enjoys a challenge). In her free time, Abby can be found preparing and enjoying a meal with friends, reading, gardening, and spending time outdoors.
